Hey! It’s been a little bit since I’ve done a blog update, so here’s what’s going on in my world.
I’m back in Gainesville Georgia working at Adventures in Missions! Woohoo! I’m super grateful for all the Lord has done in my life on this journey of living in Cambodia, Swaziland, and Nepal for a year and a half total! My team and I met incredible local people as well as World Race participants who have continued to be my friends ever since!
Sometimes things you plan for don’t pan out the way you’d hoped they would, and that’s okay. Attempting to plant a base in Nepal is one of those. God is good and has a plan. For me that plan is now working in the Long Term Missions space of Adventures in Missions (woopwoop!) It is still a 100% support raised position, so if you’ve been partnering with me the financial need hasn’t changed. Jesus is Lord and He alone provides!
So, what do I do? Great question! Lots of things! I am in and learning all things related to base development. (Remember, I went out with my team to plant a base in Nepal) I now help with current and future base development from the States and care for our long term male missionaries at our bases.
For me I see it as a great opportunity towards the one day dream of the Farm Bed and Breakfast that ministers to burnt out missionaries and equips them for future Kingdom work. Not only do I get to care for missionaries currently on the field, but I also get to learn the ins and outs of for-profit and non-profit business models! (Exciting!)
BUT that’s not all folks! There’s more?? YEP! Working at Adventures in Missions is not only a great community, but it also provides opportunities to pour into World Racers- a program I did from July ’14- May ’15 that takes participants on a journey with Jesus to 11 countries in 11 months. It’s amazing to be able to give things away spiritually, physically, and emotionally to these Racers before they leave and after they get back. These are days on end where I have the privilege to give my time and efforts to these world changers!
Recently, I got to spend 10 days straight training World Race J-squad! (our squad color was blue) They’re incredible people and I even got to witness a few of them getting Baptized on the final day of their training camp. A fair amount of the people shared how they had been Baptized as a child but wanted to get Baptized again as an outward sign of an inward change that Jesus has done in their lives. It was a privilege to be a part of!
